The reduction of emissions from international air transport is a key Strategic Objective for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).

In line with its priority to foster the use of innovative green technologies in aid of this goal, the UN agency will be eagerly assisting Solar Impulse as it secures the necessary fly over authorizations, take-off and landing permits, and other certifications needed from applicable ICAO Member States for the landmark 2015 around-the-world solar flight.
