As an engineer, scientist and explorer, I have spent much of my working life with research and development projects. The excitement of exploring the unknown continues to fascinate me. Therefore, I am honoured and excited to be invited to be a Patron for the Solar Impulse Program. I believe this exotic and technically demanding use of solar energy will help focus attention on increased uses of this form of renewal energy. The circumnavigation of our planet by a solar powered aircraft is exciting and historic but contained within is an important opportunity for all humankind. How nice to be a small part of it..."
